About Me
Hello, I’m Olivia! I am an oil painter and multimedia artist born in 2003, from the UK. I have exhibited my artworks throughout the UK and Japan, with my practice primarily focusing on oil painting, I have had past exhibitions of my oil paintings, textile installations and coloured pencil works. I am soon to graduate from Loughborough University with a BA in Fine Art. Upon my graduation, I have been preparing my new series of oil paintings called “Moments” to exhibit at Loughborough University’s 2026 Degree Show. The degree show will showcase the whole cohort of new fine art graduates from Loughborough University.
About my Practice
My practice tells the narrative of my lived experience through the portrayal of oil-painted snippets into my personal memories from my time in different places. The aesthetics of my practice consist of dreamlike realist landscapes and still lifes consisting of both serene and melancholic colours. My concept stems from the fleeting moment to describe the impermanence in my emotions, experiences, and relationships. Through the process of painting, I create new timeless moments with colours dependent on these factors. My paintings exist in a metaphysical location, picking up moments which I do not want to leave behind. From creating individual paintings acting as objects of episodes of time, time is permitted to be frozen to allow a moment to be still rather than fleetingly forgotten. My painting practice allows me to document my feelings of existential dislocation and allows me to mark my history whilst sharing pieces of nostalgia and memories through real world-inspired dream-like moments.
